Coconut oil got its fame because it is one of the sources for MCT. Why is that important because unlike LCT, MCT don’t get stored as fat but rather used up directly for energy.

Pure MCT oil is different from coconut oil. Pure MCT oil has high proportion of caprylic and capric acid extracted from coconut. While your plain old coconut is higher in lauric acid
HDL and LDL
You may have heard about coconut oil improving the HDL or the good cholesterol level, however what you may not know is that it can also increase your LDL i.e the bad cholesterol thus technically nullifying any health benefits.
